What's New..

The past week has been quite an ordeal actually. Monday did not start off well, had many clients to follow up with, including those under my colleague, Roy, as he was going away for his honeymoon the next day. On Tuesday, GM chased us for follow-ups on the French Association event. Apparently, there were some issues on the event day as the President of the Association asked to speak with GM. Then came Wednesday, where we had a meeting to resolve more issues regarding event enquiries. Thursday had 2 big events which involved about 500 over pax, one by Asia Pacific Brewery and the other by Standard Chartered. When I stepped into office on Thursday morning, I was told by another colleague that the events company were still doing setup for the APB event, which was supposed to end at 8am in the morning! The whole Altivo was in mess and their equipment were all over the place, which we did not allow it at all. Of cos GM was notified as well, and the events co. had hell of a blasting from him. I was even asked to take pictures of the place! well well, so much for an event huh.. Finally came Friday, was happy to see my Boss (Chris) in the morning..cos he applied for 1 day leave to settle things at the office. When I thought the day would be more enjoyable with him around, plus I had to handle a wedding event that night, it will end the week on a nice note. But alas, Boss tendered his resignation that morning! and moreover, he left on the very day itself. Though Kelvin and I kinda anticipated this, but still it was too sudden. I was pretty much affected by it. Seriously, I think it is not easy to find a boss who is stern at the right times, and yet can be as fun-loving as a friend. I have really enjoyed working with him and got to learnt some ropes from him as well. I felt that he is able to lead us and our whole team can communicate well with him, which I feel is crucial in terms of teamwork. GM just doesnt know how to appreciate him. Arent we shorthanded enough? and now this has to happen. My mood didnt get better until the evening when I saw the lovely wedding couple.

It was my first Chinese wedding which I coordinated by myself. This wedding event actually went through 4 events salespersons, and I was the 4th one which the couple liased with. Can u imagine how frustrating it can be for the couple to speak with so many sales persons?! When they finally met me in August, they were glad that I was going to be the last contact person. And of course, I had to make sure the whole wedding runs smoothly. It was afterall a once in a lifetime event for someone..will not allow any hiccups at all. haha.. the couple came earlier to rehearse their 1st march-in with the music and lightings procedures. Seeing them walking down the red carpet aisle, I felt delighted and a sense of satisfaction. Many procedures to run through and lots of planning involved for a wedding, but the sense of achievement is somehow greater than for corporate events. =D

After an eventful week, I could finallly take a break on Saturday! Woke up at like.. 12 plus.. but still not enough!haha..enjoyed a lazy afternoon at home with my mum and all.. chatting online with my boi and friends..listening to music..then headed down to town to meet jojo, marvin and clariss for dinner, before going for our WANG LI HONG's CONCERT at indoor stadium! one of my hot favourites!! =)
