The past week has been a pretty rough one actually. Our events team got blasted by GM cos we arent hitting our target for the month. My boss got scolded for not managing the sales well and sitting on certain matters for too long. But it is not our fault. GM is leading the team as well and as a leader, isnt he supposed to help us find solutions instead of giving us more headaches? We are so shorthanded and yet he is taking forever to hire new people. For goodness sake, he does not fully understand how we work and our processes for events..so why the hell he screams at us for..he should try putting himself in our shoes.. 2 of us handling 5 persons job.. we are up to our neck with quotations and clients..and are doing everything we can now to complete things fast. If we have enough people, definitely the whole work process would be more efficient.

He said to us on one of the days, "Why arent u people following up fast enough and not answering calls?" my reply was, "Mr Loh, we dont have enough people to sit here and mann the hotline and emails the whole day, who is going to attend to site visits and other clients?" Then he kept quiet for a while and said, "I want to have a meeting tomorrow.." But apparently the meeting did not happen cos he himself wasnt in the office most of the day.

Come on.. give us some breathing space mann.. no point screaming at us and not finding solutions to our problems. Kelvin and I are multi-tasking every single minute of the day and are doing our best to close deals. I wish I can rebute GM when he blasts us.. but gotta do it tactfully la..we have got to defend ourselves as well and not let him run us down. hahaha.. sounds fierce huh.. but this is protecting ourselves too.. it is not as if we are incapable.. but circumstances are such that inhibits what we can do. Actually, I have nothing against him, just that his words and actions during the past week made himself look bad.

Having done my ranting and all, I seriously hope there will be more manpower soon cos I also need a break. =)
